6 December 2012 – 22:20 [Weather warning for The Netherlands]

 

A severe weather warning has been issued for December 7 in The Netherlands, live mirrors of all servers and services to our other Data Centers across Europe are now online and have become standard procedure across all Data Centers for any future threats to our infrastructure.

 

Users who use the Portal to access their servers or services should take notice of the Portal manual on how to manually switch netscaler use.

 

Users who use SSLVPN to access their servers or services should take notice of the SSLVPN manual on how to manually switch netscaler use.

 

Do note that netscaler entries are automatically adjusted when one fails but massive failures along the internet may leave this process to fail as well and manual intervention may be needed.

24 November 2012 – 23:23 [Flooding in Wales and England]

 

Due to a severe possibility power supplies of our Data Centers in Wales and England to get flooded we have put in place a live mirror of all servers and services to our other Data Centers across Europe. Should any system fail, an intermittent delay of about 60 seconds will be noticed while you are transferred to other netscalers (under normal circumstances this takes between one and two hours).

 

Users who use the Portal to access their servers or services should take notice of the Portal manual on how to manually switch netscaler use.

18 November 2012 – 22:51 [Storage capacity increase]

 

After a long testing period with a new storage system algorithm we have finally passed the last stage yesterday, today (just an hour ago) we have completed a massive increase in our storage units over all data centers to 120TB per unit case available as of now ! Storage as planned for the next 3 years have been tripled.

30 September 2012 – 22:56 [Fiber failure at DC2]

 

Tonight the primary fiber link failed at DC2 and switched to the backup fiber link, you may have experienced a short connection break as the netscalers kicked in with rerouting. An engineer is on route to fix the problem.

25 August 2012 – 23:11 [E-mail problems SDSC]

 

The past 4 days we have been having issues with emails not being send from the SDSC, the problem has been found to be an external issue and fixed, we’ve taken steps to prevent this in the future. Only new tickets were effected, direct contact tickets and ongoing tickets have not been effected.

22 August 2012 – 13:54 [New UK datacenter DC9 gone online today !]

 

Today we’d like to welcome the first 85 users in our new UK datacenter DC9 located in Bristol, next to our DC in Wales we now have 2 DC’s for the UK with additional space for 2500 users. All primary netscalers are online, the secondary ones will be online later tonight. All new storage units have been synchronized.

As of September 2012 we are disabling all VPN services and switching over to our new SSLVPN gateways which are cluster integrated just like VPN is. You can find the SSLVPN software packages and manuals required in our SDSC, please switch over as soon as possible, our Helpdesk teams are here to help you with any problems.

This is our statement regarding cookies used on all our Clusters, Websites *.ecsystems.nl / *.itprojectpartner.nl:

 

Only websites that are interactive, use a cookie for each user, these cookies are only used in order for the interactive component to work for individual users such as authentication, status of last (trans)actions on last visit, etc.

 

No cookie on any of our websites is used for collecting user data, in short technical term the cookies used are useless without the connection they have with the backend systems the interactive frontend is connected with.

 

Visiting an interactive website is by its nature allowing a cookie to be created, not all technology for interactive websites can yet exist without using a cookie, not visiting interactive web sites is the only way to avoid a cookie (other than setting your web browser to block them).

Updated to Java Version 6 Update 31 and you are now getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver error ?

 

Check your backup for \jre6\lib\ext\sqljdbc.jar and do a restore of this single file.

23 April 2012 – 21:49 [Robocopy and the mysterious abort without any message issue]

 

You run your robocopy test script and everything is fine, no problems, everything gets done, but…… as soon as you run robocopy in a Job it seem to stop without any reason or error message, it just seems to vanish, even trying to use a logfile results in an empty file or even no logfile at all.

 

Here the simple but elusive answer: The Job is aborting due to a runtime limit.

 

 

See your taskscheduler, task -> settings, Stop Job when running for longer then……

Today we finally finished our new Service Desk and Service Center and have taken it online !

 

All existing resources such as Services, Products, Incident management, Knowledge base, SLA’s and the Customer download area have been migrated to one single point.

 

Haven’t received your personal login name and password ? Then use your known contact Email account to obtain access to SDSC.

 

Should you find Services, Products or SLA associations to be incorrect then raise a ticket and we will correct them.

17 February 2012 – 12:04 [Inventor 2011/2012 stress analysis grayed out]

 

There are some solutions to be found but the best advisable one is to reapply the latest service pack.

 

The root cause found here is using a deployment, when selecting to include a service pack the end result may leave stress analysis not working (among the other 2 features as well), Autodesk does have a command file that should solve it but we found that it does not solve the issue.

 

When using a deployment system for Inventor use two packages where the second should be the service pack.

23 January 2012 – 20:41 [Virtualbox 3.2.14 passed matrix testing]

 

3.2.14 has been released a year after 3.2.12 indicating how stable this 3.2 release is. Tests in our lab for matrix testing have been completed with one side note about memory assignment, any value below 1.8gb can use non-vt-x but anything above this value must use vt-x.

As advised earlier to our customers, our DC’s are now also moving away from .com domains to .eu domains. All related software packages have been modified and are available in the customer download area.

9 January 2012 - 18:08 [Storage problems at DC1 and DC2]

 

Today we had some mayor storage problems in the pDC’s located in Rotterdam, most VM’s have been rerouted to Antwerp and Hamburg.

 

A fiber contractor using an injection system for long distances running new fiber cables had a problem with their system and shot a leadbold strait through a wall, firedoor and clipped both storage UPS systems.

 

Both systems have been repaired, DC1 and DC2 are back online, VM’s are being routed back throughout the evening. Rerouting took 25 minutes, total downtime DC1 and DC2 was 5 hours.
